AIIC Africa, a melting pot of diverse cultures, is one of AIIC’s twenty-three regions. AIIC Africa is composed of qualified interpreters based in Central, East, Southern and West Africa.

AIIC Africa has 192 members working in 24 countries. This group of professionals provides quality interpreting services at meetings on diverse themes for international, continental and regional organisations, as well as government and non-governmental institutions. AIIC Africa’s Regulations  

AIIC Africa is governed by rules of procedure and financial regulations, which are in conformity with the basic texts of the Association and have been approved by AIIC’s Executive Committee.

Regional Meetings

AIIC Africa holds statutory Regional Meetings once a year convened by the Bureau or 10% of its membership. Non-statutory meetings may also be held, when the need arises.

The Regional Bureau

At the helm of AIIC Africa is a regional bureau comprising the Advisory Board Member for Africa, the Regional Secretary, the Regional Treasurer and the Regional Webmaster.

Professional Delegations

AIIC Africa has Professional Delegations (PDs) that act as the interface between UN organisations and its members to ensure the implementation of the UNCEB-AIIC Agreement and address any challenges encountered. They may be contacted at the following email addresses:
